Lady Starlight brings her singular live set to BASEMENT. A renowned practitioner of hardware performance and intuitive, freewheeling improvisation, Starlight taps into a vein of raw, pounding techno immediacy. It’s no surprise she’s found a collaborator in Surgeon - the taut, impactful economy of her music has a familial connection to the Birmingham sound he helped define. In recent years, she’s moved from strength to strength, evolving her sound and honing her sets, stretching into twisting, darkly-hued psychedelia with plenty of acidic flavor. Hiroko Yamamura echoes this acid-laced quality. The Chicago artist leans on the searing, percolating percussion of her hometown and the mercurial, soulful ferocity that made it such a foundational hub for electronic music. Justin Cudmore steps up for a techno set. The Bunker NY artist and Balance organizer has deep roots, connecting the dots between sassy, whip crack flair and a commanding, nervy focus.

Partok returns to STUDIO. Though his early years saw him often operating in full-on techno mode, his repeat appearances at STUDIO have shown how versatile and frankly playful he can be. His sets thread the needle between throbbing urgency, industrial edginess and warm, glowing expressivity. A (very) recent mix for Honcho should provide all the proof you need, showing an artist in peak form. Irish-born, Berlin-based Cromby makes his debut at the club. Always ready with a bit of low-key nastiness, Cromby’s livewire energy is unmistakable, and his productions have found release on labels that are esteemed for their focus on individuality: Rekids, Unknown to the Unknown and Feel My Bicep, to name a few. Lauren Flax seals the deal. The unstoppable NY artist hits with god mode groove control and a slippery, acid-club twist. A set from Flax is a masterclass, every damn time.
