After having eluded last year for the Øya festival, we get Erol Alkan to pay us a visit for this special edition of Nightflight.

Erol Alkan has lived many different guises so far; DJ, remixer, label founder, club promoter, radio host, and each with great success. Keen to keep moving forwards, Alkan remains a vital figure in contemporary music, in the studio and beyond, but especially in the booth. Alkan is more than at home, alone behind the decks, professing to be as excited about DJing as ever before. He walks a narrow path between the popular and the less accessible like no other DJ can, finding that channel between the music where only Erol Alkan can exist as the individual artist. As a DJ his reputation precedes him wherever he goes, and his mixes have found their way onto recorded platforms like Fabric 77 and Bugged Out to name but a notable few. An evening with Erol Alkan is always a unique evening and you can be sure that he'll be bringing the very best in contemporary dance music wherever he goes.

Erol will be joined in the basement by our very own Della (Kristina Dunn). Dunn had her start in music with the band No Dial Tone, an energetic electro group with penchant for the exciting. As Della, Dunn's been carving out a career in Oslo as a formidable DJ, whose American background extends right back into the history of House, a genre she's most privy to. Her sets emphasise the jack in House, offering the perfect platform for Alkan to take us into the early hours of the morning.

Meanwhile upstairs...

Saturday at Jæger is for the lovers, the lovers of a good melody, an accessible beat and a bassline that goes right through to your feet. The godfather of Oslo's disco scene, Jan Sverre samples the flavours of the past, from funk and disco to eighties pop and sets the tone for a night of easy fun with infectious hooks and pulsing riffs. Jan Sverre will take his listeners on an informed journey through the history of music, music that will strike a chord on some subconscious level with the tracks that did it first.

MC Kaman takes the reigns for the rest of the night and way into the early hours of the morning with a selection of music that signifies the cutting edge of the charts. Ever the iconoclast, there's no musical taboo that MC Kaman is willing to accommodate and the music in his record box is the music of an innocent youth, carefree and unperturbed by the opinion of others. There is no irony to be found here... only a good time in the company of good popular music. Saturday is a day of contrasts however and while MC Kaman and Jan Sverre keep our lounge cosy, our guests in the basement bring an esoteric edge to your Saturday clubbing experience in the latest in Techno, House and Disco.
