Rebekah returns to the club. Her full-on, industrial scale sonics detonate the dancefloor with frightening impunity. There are few artists working today who harness unbridled intensity quite like she has. On her Elements label, Rebekah allows herself unbounded space to follow her inspiration, drawing on lineages of hardcore while making something all her own. Berlin’s Somewhen matches her with a destructive, streetwise energy. The Berghain regular teases an unhinged rave sound in his full throttle productions. Take the aptly-titled “Blood Stained,” which bores into the mix with an unstoppable bassline and flecks of darkly anthemic melodies before breaking for a menacing vocal taunt: “I’ve seen your kind / time and time again…. but in the end / you lack the stomach for the agony you bring upon yourself.” LISAS is back with the fiendishness. The NY mainstay is a true ripper, never afraid to ramp tempos or push a massive, show stopping moment to the fore.

Lisbon’s Ketia is back for another round at STUDIO. The Kit Ket co-founder is a major advocate for queer and trans visibility in their community, with “a crystal clear mission on bringing honesty to the table as a gateway to bliss on raving.” A Ketia set is striking and ferociously groovy, pulling music from across the field and weaving a shimmering, percussive tapestry. Venezuelan-born Manu Miran has become a beloved presence in the NY queer underground. As both a DJ and organizer, he favors the hedonistic and explosive. There’s a strong current of jacking physicality running through his sets; no wonder he named his club night VISCERAL. Joselo is back. The Maricón founder reps serious Latinx rhythms in his set. His presence rounds out a night in STUDIO that showcases essential queer voices leading a new generation.
