Hold on tight - Regal returns to BASEMENT. The Involve Records boss has been on an unstoppable tear, honing his craft and pushing his artistry to make some of techno’s most blinding and distilled modern works. Regal consistently weaves absolutely devastating sonics with lush, even emotive melodic flourishes. Tracks like “Dungeon Master” and “Ego Wars” are top tier, showing how he warps the template into something unique and all his own. Berlin’s BAUGRUPPE90 are back. Like Regal, they balance a well-tuned attack with carefully carved space, pulling every ounce of impact from their masterfully sculpted tracks. Annie Lew lands in the room following her recent set at RUSH. The Infra resident goes hard. This is techno with a capital T; fast, lean, sick.

MCR-T is back at STUDIO.The Live from Earth affiliate is part of a new wave of Berlin artists who are redefining electronic music with no regard for the rules. Fusing hard, heavy rapping with a tight, seething electro-rave palette, MCR-T’s performances go off with impunity. “I wanna be the king of the underground/say my name” is one of the hookiest loops from a recent, explosive performance. It feels less like a prompt and more like a foregone conclusion. X-Coast matches the unhinged energy with a no-fucks-given dive into breaky wildness, syrupy pads and sugar rush piano house. He scales impossible heights; these are huge, shiny constructions that glisten and gleam with a magenta shimmer. Sterling Juan Diaz is a name that should be familiar to anyone following NY nightlife. The Playground resident goes all in on house’s nervy, erotic sides, playing with a daring touch and an attention-grabbing flair.
