For one week in the year, Jæger pulls out all the stops, with things like budget and practical realities set aside to help celebrate one of the most exciting weeks in Oslo, and in fact Norway’s, musical calendar. As the world’s most profound musicians conspire on a hill in Tøyen during the day for Øya Festivalen, we’ll be prepping our two dance floors for Øya natt, the official after party where our weekly residencies play host to a star studded international guestlist like no other.

Retro foregoes its obvious connotations for this event in light of one of the most forward thinking labels in the world landing in its residency booth for this event. Young Turks, which boasts names like Jamie XX and FKA Twigs on its roll call has called in non-other than Floating Points for the occasion, which will see the neuroscientist flex his DJ muscle after showcasing his proclivity as a live artist earlier that day for Øya. His recent debut album Elaenia, has cemented his reputation as a true innovator of electronic music, for the dance floor and beyond it, with his skill in the booth, being the point of transition where all his influences unite.

It wouldn’t be a White Turks showcase however without etikett Whites, the Young Turks imprint that takes care of the label’s dance floor needs, and who else but label boss Tusker to represent that corner of Young Turks’ world, no- doubt packing tracks like those Minor Science, Reckonwrong, Avalon Emerson & Kowton have brought to the label.

The YT DJ crew fill out this Young Turks line-up with Tic (FKA Twigs) and Oslo’s own Mattis representing, while a special guest is also rumored to be joining us from the label for this Øya Natt edition of Retro where Dj Nuhhh and Karima is on hand to cater to your most broadest musical needs in support of Young Turks.
