Okey da setter vi i gang bookingåret 2014 på RETRO med trippel Detroitfest. Tre uker på rad fra Torsdag 20 Februar til 06 Mars får dere servert en gullrekke av henholdsvis Seth Troxler, Juan Atkins og Carl Craig i kjellern på Jaeger. Vi legger ikke skjul på at vi er ekstra glad i musikk fra byen hvor det hele startet, Detroit. Det var derfor heller ingen tilfeldighet at pioneren Derrick May var den første utenlanske bookingen på RETRO noen gang. Og derav også ekstra glede over at en av verdens mest annerkjente nye Dj, produsent, driver av plateselskap, festarrangør, Seth Troxler kommer fra samme magiske sted! Du kan si mye om denne karen og det har blitt sagt en del. Selv blir jeg alltid litt skeptisk av for mye snakk og hype, men tar man en nærmere titt på hva denne fyren driver med er det bare å ta av seg hatten og bøye seg i støvet. Jeg kan hvertfall bekrefte hans teft som dj etter å ha hørt et av mine favorittsett i 2013 da han avsluttet Sonar i fjor sommer. Det ingen tvil om at dette kommer til å bli gøy og bra så sørg for al del ikke for å gå glipp av en av vinterens høydpunkter I Oslos klubbscnene. Osloheltene G-Ha og Olanskii er selvskrevne til å sette herligheten i gang i kjelleren mens jeg har invitert Pål Ulv fra hubbabubbaklubb til å spille fritt og svevende gjennom mange og "rare" favorittsjangere med meg i andreetasjen.

«In accordance with Mayan prophecy, Seth Troxler was, in fact, a gift to Detroit techno from intergalactic house demigods from the future. Rumours that Seth Troxler is actually an alien are untrue; in the early first century these demigods kidnapped the virile first-born child of a Roman centurion and his Egyptian trophy wife. After years of travelling around the western end of the Milky Way studying linear algebra, Byronic verse, city planning, and the essentials of electronic music composition, these demigods lost young Seth to the Old God Horus in a game of trans-dimensional poker. He has played many outstanding international gigs, notably fabric (London), Panorama Bar and Watergate (Berlin), Womb (Tokyo), Tenax (Florence), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), The Rex (Paris), Fuse (Brussels), Avalon (LA), The End Up (San Fransisco) plus The Detroit Electronic Music Festival and Mutek. In the studio he has collaborated with such dance luminaries as Matthew Dear, Art Department, Tiefschwarz, Deetron, Masemenos and dOP, in addition to groundbreaking remix work done as Visionquest alongside fellow astral refugees Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss. Their most recent remix was a track from David Lynch’s debut artist album. Together their Visionquest project has spawned the most exciting new record label in dance music today, plus a four deck DJ spectacular that will see the four of them tour the world reminding people how lucky they are to be human.

Troxler is currently in hiding in London, where he began his self-imposed exile from the United States after sleeping with then-Senator Barak Obama’s wife. Seth will remain in Europe until his 33rd birthday, at which point he will descend upon the Levant and battle his way westward as he reclaims his kingdom. At least that’s what some guy at Burning Man told us.»
