As many of you may have seen from the Tárnok Quarry’s recent post, the site will be closed until March 2026. Unfortunately, this affects us too – this year’s Katlan Festival won’t be held at its original location.
The owner of the Tárnok Quarry, Lajosbá, has been passionately developing this globally unique site for over 30 years – reinvesting everything he has into its growth. The venue has already hosted six Katlan Festivals. It’s no secret that the main source of income for the quarry isn’t underground electronic music events, but film productions. This year, a major international production has rented the site for an entire year – an offer that simply couldn’t be refused.
Our hearts are heavy. Nothing has stopped Katlan so far – not even Covid – and we’ve always looked forward to the second weekend of July to break free with all of you.
But we understand the situation, and we’re confident that when we return to the Quarry in 2026, the benefits of this decision will be visible and we can see a lot of improvements to our beloved venue. However as we’ve put together possibly our most exciting lineup to date, there’s no way we’re giving up on this epic three-day party marathon! The obvious choice for us is to host a special Katlan Festival edition at Arzenál – with the same spirit and atmosphere you’ve come to expect from us. We’ll be transforming the iconic arms factory space with immersive visuals and next-level production to give it that unmistakable Katlan vibe.Beyond that, we’re doing everything we can to make sure you still get your Katlan experience this year – including your dose of wild parties at special venues. Here’s what we’re working on:
- During the Katlan weekend (July 11–13) we’re planning daytime events at unique outdoor locations – where industrial vibes, nature and music can merge into one unforgettable experience.
- Later in the summer, we’re planning standalone, all-night Katlan events at extraordinary, atmospheric venues – one potential location being the legendary Gánt Bauxite Mine.
We’re already in talks with several exciting venues, but we’re also open to your suggestions – especially if you have direct connections to unique industrial, natural or post-industrial spaces.
Day ticket sales will open within 24 hours, and more headliner announcements are coming very soon!
We hope that despite the current circumstances, you’ll stick with us and continue to support what we do. If we can make this year a success, we’ll have everything we need to return to Katlan and pick up exactly where we left off.
See you at Arzenál!
